Full description
Don't miss a wonderful off-road tour on Mount Etna. Your guide will tell you the history of the volcano and reveal secrets and curiosities about the places you will cross together.
On board the jeep you will reach an area of ancient explosive activity, lava craters, a semi-crater and a state-owned refuge.
You will complete the experience with a tasting of wines, liqueurs and honey typical of the area.
What we will do
The appointment is in Catania. Once the group is formed, we will get into the jeep and begin our tour.
We will first visit the Etna Park. We will be enchanted by the extraordinary landscape surrounding the highest active volcano in Europe and we will be able to visit the famous Hornitos, lava cones that were formed during the eruptive phases.
As we ascend and continue with the tour to reach an altitude of 2,000 metres, the guide will tell us many interesting facts about the local flora and fauna. We will encounter many solidified lava flows that have destroyed roads and buildings in the past and made the landscape barren.
We will then reach a belvedere from which we will be able to admire the Valle del Bove, which extends along the eastern slope of the volcano and from which we will also be able to see the summit craters characterised by a gas plume.
At the end of the tour, we will stop at a farm in Zafferana Etnea, where a tasting of wines, liqueurs and honey (included) will await us.
The total duration of the tour is 6 hours and ends with the return to Catania at 14:30.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is open to all, with no age limit.
The fee for children up to 2 years old includes a car seat.
Other information
The activity takes place every day of the year and is confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.
It is not possible to participate in the excursion wearing heels, sandals or flip-flops. It is not possible to take suitcases or trolleys on board the jeeps.
Dogs or other animals are not allowed.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
