Prepare to experience an adventurous day on board a jeep that will take you through mountains, dirt tracks, ancient bridges and villages and let you discover the natural and historical beauty of northern Sicily.
You will see the village of Castelbuono with its church, pass through territories dominated by centuries-old olive trees, and reach the hamlet of San Mauro. It will be a route that will amaze you with every kilometre you travel, because the area is an alternation of wheat-growing valleys and small villages.
You will also visit the village elected 'the most beautiful in Italy' in 2019, Petralia Soprana, and have lunch with local products in a Sicilian masseria. In short, this excursion is not to be missed! What are you waiting for to book?
What we will do
Themeeting place is in Castel di Tusa, in the province of Messina. We will be welcomed by an expert guide who will lead us through impervious, fascinating territories dominated by valleys, dirt tracks and wheat fields.
Thefirst stop will be in Castelbuono, where we will visit the village and its church, whose crypt dates back to the Crusader period. We will continue our journey by heading towards the ponte dei briganti (bridge of brigands), an area where outlaws used to lurk in the distant past to collect a passage tax from merchants passing through the area.
We will then arrive at an ancient Sicilian masseria for lunch based on local products. Back on the jeep we will reach Petralia Soprana, the most beautiful village in Italy, characterised by narrow streets, noble palaces and churches, which we will have the opportunity to visit.
After the stop, we will pass through the Urban Geological Path in order to admire Petralia Sottana, another village perched on the mountains, fossil remains dating back to the Miocene, karstic caves and springs in the centre. Finally, we will pass through Piano Battaglia, located in the heart of the Madonie Massif, the village of Isnello and the astronomical observatory.
The tour lasts a total of six hours.
Who it is aimed at
The excursion is for everyone, adults and children, but is not recommended for pregnant women. The minimum age for participation is 2 years.

The tour can be booked all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
Pick-up at a hotel or accommodation is free of charge only in Cefalù. If you are staying in one of the neighbouring towns, please contact the guide to arrange pick-up at an extra cost or receive advice on how to reach the meeting point in time for the activity. Please note: from May to October the pick-up service is not available.
Jeeps are equipped with minibars and first-aid kits.
