Full description
There is only one way to capture the authentic soul of Lake Como: glide over its waters on board a vintage wooden boat.
Set off from Varenna for a private one-and-a-half-hour tour dedicated to architectural beauty and total relaxation. With a professional skipper, you will sail to the pearls of the central lake, with the possibility of adding a bottle of prosecco for an exclusive toast in front of the world's most famous gardens and villas!
What we will do
The appointment is at the indicated time at the meeting point in Varenna (LC). Awaiting you will be the skipper who will accompany you and your group on board a splendid classic wooden boat. Once you have taken your seat, we will start sailing towards the heart of the Lario.
You will sail to the opposite shore to admire Villa Carlotta and the luxurious Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and then remain enchanted in front of the peninsula that is home to the scenic Villa del Balbianello. The skipper will tell you about the history and curiosities linked to these prestigious residences.
You will then continue to the shore of Bellagio, where you will be able to observe from the lake its historic centre, the gardens of Villa Melzi and the reserved Bay of Pescallo. If you wish, you can request a stop for a dip (not from the boat, but at a nearby beach) , before sipping some fresh water or a glass of bubbly (optional and to be paid for on site) lulled by the gentle movement of the boat.
The tour will continue towards the east coast, allowing you to admire the famous Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi, undisputed icons of Varenna
Finally, you will return to the starting point in Varenna. The activity will last about 1½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone without age limits; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The experience can be booked all year round and is intended for private groups of up to 11 people.
The boat used is a Wood Classic Boat d'Este II, 10 metres long and equipped with a covered panoramic cabin, heating, outdoor area and shower. There is no toilet.
It is possible to request a bottle of prosecco on board for an additional charge of €30 (to be paid locally) .
Dogs of all sizes are allowed on board.
On-site parking spaces are available for a fee. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
