Full description
If you want to experience the thrill of sailing on a beautiful vintage sailing ship, this is the experience for you.
On board the sailing ship, you will discover the wonderful coves of the Gulf of Orosei. The boat will be at your complete disposal: on board there will only be you and the people you wish to take with you.
What are you waiting for? Set off from Cala Gonone and get ready to fill your eyes with wonder at the landscapes that will stand out before you en route.
What we will do
The meeting point is set at the port of Cala Gonone, in the Gulf of Orosei. On arrival you will be welcomed by the skipper, who will take you on board the splendid sailing ship. You will set sail at 10.30 am following the route of the Selvaggio Blu.
Just outside the harbour you can admire the impressive limestone cliffs eroded by the sea, interspersed with forests and coves. The first cove you will encounter will be Cala Luna. After that, you will reach Cala Sisine, Cala Biriala with its small rose-coloured beach, and Piscine di Venere, where you can dive for your first swim of the day in the emerald water.
Back on board, you will continue on to Cala Mariolu or Cala dei Gabbiani, where you can dive again and enjoy a couple of hours of beach life or do some snorkelling. Here, on the beach, you can also have a packed lunch (not included).
After a couple of hours, you will re-board the boat to continue sailing and arrive at the base of the Needle, an imposing elongated rock that stands alone from the sea. You will also have a close look at the spectacular natural arch of Goloritze, where an impressive cave is hidden. Here you will not be able to do without another dive.
It will then be time to turn back towards the port, but you can stop for a last swim at Cala Sisine or Cala Luna. The return to Cala Gonone is scheduled by 18:00, for a total duration of 7 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is for everyone, but the sailing ship is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The activity takes place every day from June to October, depending on weather and sea conditions.
Punctuality is recommended: it is advisable to arrive an hour before the start of the activity, in order to leave on time and fully enjoy the day.
Due to the delicacy and antiquity of the sailing ship, it is not permitted on board:
- bring animals
- consume food and drink (refreshments will be provided during stops in the creeks)
- apply sun cream: it must be applied one hour before boarding and can be reapplied during the day during stopovers in the creeks
- smoke
There is no toilet on board.
