Full description
If water and mud don't frighten you, a4-wheel adventure to the source of the Alcantara river awaits you in Floresta (ME), including river crossings, forests, scenic climbs and a picnic stop with local specialities.
A2½-hour excursion that will go by very fast, just like your quad bike!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Floresta (ME). On our arrival, the guide will welcome us and explain how the quad bike works, with a short technical briefing and a test drive on an off-road stretch.
We will set off on a ring-route of about 15 km, crossing dirt tracks, woods and even the Alcantara river, which has its source in Floresta at an altitude of 1250 metres.
From the source, we will descend to an altitude of 900 metres, then climb up to 1400 metres and stop at a viewpoint from which we can admire the profile of the Aeolian Islands, Cape Milazzo, and MountEtna.
Halfway up, there will be a 30-minute picnic stop immersed in nature: we will be served a basket with typical local products, including salami, homemade mozzarella, bread, cakes, jams, and a bottle of wine.
We will then return to the starting point. The activity will last about 2 ½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The driver must be at least 18 years old and have a B licence. There is no age limit for the passenger.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first time quad rider.
Other information
The excursion is available all year round.
During the tour, driver and passenger can swap driving, provided they both meet the requirements.
The organiser has 4 quads available that can carry 1 driver + 1 passenger for a total of 8 participants.
The price is per quad and includes the hire of the vehicle and the picnic for 1 or 2 people.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any accompanying persons can wait at the base camp.
