4-hour quad bike tour among the lakes of the Nebrodi Mountains with picnic

Pisciotto, Trearìe and Cartolari: these are not the names of fictional characters, but the three highest natural lakes in the Nebrodi Mountains, surrounded by beech and pine forests.

Reach them by quad in the company of a guide, crossing woods, off-road trails and stopping for a typical Sicilian picnic in the midst of nature.

Three and a half hours of true exploration, to be experienced all in one breath!

What we will do

The meeting point is 15 minutes before the indicated time, at the meeting point in Floresta (ME). On arrival, the guide will welcome us and provide us with all the necessary information before setting off during a short briefing.

After an off-road driving test, we will be ready for our tour! We will cover an itinerary of about 35 km between the three highest lakes in the Nebrodi Mountains: Pisciotto, Trearìe and Cartolari. We will drive on dirt roads and wooded paths, with our guide telling us curiosities and stories about these hidden places.

The first lake we will reach is Pisciotto, the smallest but also the most curious, famous for being an important stopover for migratory birds including ducks and flamingos. We will then continue on to Lake Trearìe, framed by a pine forest that makes it quite similar to a lake in Trentino Alto-Adige. Finally, we will arrive at Cartolari, a lake set in a beech forest where we will stop to enjoy the panorama.

In addition to the scenic stops near the lakes, about halfway along the route we will stop for a picnic at one of the forestry company's picnic areas. Here we will enjoy a basket full of typical local products including cold cuts, homemade mozzarella, bread, cakes, jams and a bottle of wine.

The tour will end with a return to the starting point. The activity will last about three and a half hours in total .

Who it is aimed at

The driver must be at least 18 years old and have a B licence. There is no age limit for the passenger.

The experience is of medium level and suitable for those who have already driven an ATV at least once.

Other information

The excursion is available all year round.

During the tour, driver and passenger can swap driving, provided they both meet the requirements.

The organiser has 4 quads available that can carry 1 driver + 1 passenger for a total of 8 participants.

The price is per quad and includes the hire of the vehicle and the picnic for 1 or 2 people.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

Any accompanying persons can wait at the base camp.
