Experience the thrill of climbing Europe's largest volcano: MountEtna is waiting for you!
A unique opportunity in which you can mount a 4x4 jeep and venture on an exciting trek to discover the fascinating volcanic landscape that surrounds you.
Not only will you admire craters and lava beds created by the descent of magma during an eruption, but you will also be able to descend into the heart of the volcano with speleologist's equipment, discovering some caves. It will be an out-of-the-ordinary experience, almost like going to Mars!
What we will do
The rendezvous will be in Trecastagni (CT), at the time and meeting point indicated during the booking process.
After a brief welcome for all participants, we will mount our 4x4 jeeps to begin the tour. After about 30 minutes off-road, we will reach the first cave, which we will be able to visit inside thanks to thespeleologists' equipment and the presence of a guide who will tell us anecdotes and notions aboutEtna's volcanic activity.
In all, we will visit at least three caves, which are formed during eruptions due to the chemical and physical conditions of the magma, to immerse ourselves in the heart of Europe's largest volcano. We will also be able to observe and walk along the lava river beds, complete with canals and embankments, created by the magma flowing down the valley.
During the tour, we will alternate between 4x4 transfers, walking sections and descents into caves, some kilometres apart, adapting the experience to the needs and physical fitness of the participants.
We will return to the meeting point after a four-hour hike.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all people with good mobility and physical fitness, from 4 years of age.
Children aged 4 to 13 pay a fee of €35: contact us to book.

The activity takes place all year round, every day, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 people.
The tour will be conducted in 4- to 8-seater jeeps, up to a maximum of 40 participants spread over several cars.
Free parking is available at the meeting point. The meeting place cannot be reached by public transport, but a pickup from Catania can be arranged on request. Contact the organisers after booking confirmation for more information.
A toilet is available at the meeting point and it is possible to rent trekking shoes, insulated jackets and trekking poles.
Dogs are not allowed on this experience.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
