Experience the thrill of climbing Europe's largest volcano: MountEtna is waiting for you!
A unique opportunity in which you can mount a 4x4 jeep and venture on an exciting trek to discover the fascinating volcanic landscape that surrounds you.
Not only will you admire craters and lava beds created by the descent of magma during an eruption, but you will also be able to descend into the heart of the volcano with speleologist's equipment, discovering some caves. It will be an out-of-the-ordinary experience, almost like going to Mars!
What we will do
The meeting point is in Trecastagni (CT), at the time and location specified when you booked.
After a brief welcome for all participants, we’ll climb into our 4x4 jeeps to begin the tour. After about 30 minutes off-road, we’ll reach the first cave, which we’ll be able to explore inside thanks to our caving equipment and the presence of a guide who’ll share anecdotes and facts about Mount Etna’s volcanic activity.
In total, we’ll visit at least three caves, which are formed during eruptions due to the chemical and physical properties of the magma, allowing us to delve into the heart of Europe’s largest volcano. We’ll also be able to observe and walk along the lava riverbeds – complete with channels and banks – created by the magma flowing down into the valley.
During the tour, we’ll alternate between travelling by 4x4, walking sections and descending into caves, some of which are kilometres apart, tailoring the experience to the needs and fitness levels of the participants.
We’ll return to the meeting point after an excursion lasting approximately 5 hours .
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all people with good mobility and physical fitness, from 4 years of age.
Children aged 4 to 13 pay a fee of €35: contact us to book.

The activity takes place all year round, every day, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 people.
The tour will be conducted in 4- to 8-seater jeeps, up to a maximum of 40 participants spread over several cars.
Free parking is available at the meeting point. The meeting place cannot be reached by public transport, but a pickup from Catania can be arranged on request. Contact the organisers after booking confirmation for more information.
A toilet is available at the meeting point and it is possible to rent trekking shoes, insulated jackets and trekking poles.
Dogs are not allowed on this experience.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
