Join us for a 4x4 excursion to the craters and enjoy the incredible scenery ofEtna at sunset. The twilight with its warm colours, between light and shadow, makes this landscape even more magical.
You can walk to the edge of the craters and then continue to the summit, in the company of mountain or volcanological guides. At sunset, a unique panorama awaits you, which you can enjoy to the full from an altitude of 2,850 metres.

What we will do
The appointment with the mountain or volcanological guides is 30 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Linguaglossa (CT), where we will also find the special latest-generation 4x4 vehicles.
The first stop will be at the ruins of the Le Betulle hotel , the only visible structure among those destroyed by the lava flow of 27 October 2002. Afterwards, we will head towards the button craters of the 27 October 2002 eruption.
Arriving at our destination at an altitude of 1900 m, we will begin our trekking on the lava flows. We will walk along the edges of the craters in a short loop that will allow us to admire the lava flow that destroyed the tourist resort of Piano Provenzana.
We will then continue in the direction of theVolcanological Observatory located at Pizzi Deneri, at an altitude of 2,818 metres. We get out of the off-road vehicle and begin an easy 15-minute trek that will take us to the top of the Pizzi Deneri promontory, at an altitude of 2,850 metres.
The panorama before our eyes will be incredible: we will be able to see the Aeolian Islands, Syracuse, Giardini Naxos and, in the distance, the summit craters dominating the majestic Valle del Bove. We will stay here for about an hour enjoying the spectacle of the sunset.
Finally, we will take the off-road vehicles back to the starting point. Theoff-road excursion will take 2 ½ hours; the experience will last about 3 hours in total .
Who it is aimed at
The tour is suitable for everyone over the age of two. It is not suitable, however, for women over three months pregnant or for those suffering from heart or respiratory problems.
Wheelchair users may participate.

Warning. The start time of the activity may vary depending on the time of sunset.
The activity can be booked from May to October and is confirmed when there are 8 participants.
The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
