Trekking with alpacas and llamas among the Montello bunkers near Treviso

Adding a little levity to the story.

This is what our alpaca and llama walk on the Montello hill in the province of Treviso does. Together with a nature guide, you will walk along the banks of the Piave river dotted with First World War bunkers.

An experience of over 2 hours, between nature and culture.

What we will do

I will be waiting for you at the selected time at the meeting point in Parrocchia Santa Croce (TV). To welcome you there will be me, the organiser of the experience, in the company of a nature guide and my sweet animals!

The activity will start 10 minutes after the meeting time, once all participants have been picked up. I will then hold a briefing during which I will explain how to deal with the animals, where we will venture and what we will see.

This will be followed by the allocation of an animal, between alpacas and llamas: they will determine the allocation, as some pairs of animals do not move without their trusty companion! At your side you could have Vasco, Henriko, Kuzco, a member of the best friend pair of Italo and Igor, and many others.

We will depart nicely from Via Lama and descend to the banks of the Piave River, which we will follow along the way. The itinerary includes a visit to a couple of World War I bunkers; we will also visit the Tavaran Grando Cave in small groups, while the rest of the participants will rest outside in the company of animals. During the walk, which is about 5 km long and has an altitude difference of 100 m, the nature guide will not fail to provide descriptions of the local flora and fauna.

We will then return to the meeting point along the same path. The walk will last 2 hours; the experience will last 2 ½ hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable from the age of 16; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The route is not suitable for people with disabilities.

The visit to the Tavaran Grando Cave only takes place as far as it is possible to stand, without causing discomfort to those suffering from claustrophobia.

Attention! The experience is available from June to September and takes place 1 day per month on the dates indicated in the calendar.

The activity is confirmed when the minimum number of 8 participants is reached.

The duration of the experience may vary depending on the number and speed of participants.

It is possible to take part in the experience as a participant, holding the animal by the halter, or as an accompanying person. The organiser has 10 animals for a maximum of 10 participants plus companions. The allocation of alpacas or llamas is determined on site at the organiser's discretion.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

Dogs are not allowed to participate in this activity.

There are no water sources along the route, so it is recommended that you bring at least 1 litre of water with you.

During the experience, the organiser will take souvenir photos which will then be shared with the participants via WeTransfer to the e-mail address used for the booking within 1 week of the event.
