Full description
You can take a walk in the mountains, on a beach or through the streets of the city centre. But we bet you have never taken a walk with birds of prey?
Live this new experience in Fontanellato and immerse yourself in the Parma countryside in the company of a falconer and his Harris's buzzards.
This 2½-hour adventure will be the most original walk you have ever taken!
What we will do
The meeting will take place in Fontanellato (PR) at the time indicated for the activity.
Here you will meet the falconer who will accompany you on this walk with birds of prey. The activity will begin with an interactive theoretical part lasting about 30 minutes, during which the falconer will give you some hints on falconry and introduce you to four examples of Harris's buzzards, including Sakura and Venom.
You will then set off towards the Taro river, a short distance from the facility, to begin your trek(maximum 5 km on an easy, flat route) in the company of the falconer.
In addition to being surrounded by the Parma countryside and its wooded areas, you will be accompanied by the free flight of buzzards, which will follow your path. You will also be able to wear the falconer's glove and call the birds of prey to your fist, interrupting their flight for brief moments.
At the end of the walk, which will last approximately 2 hours, you will return to the meeting point. The activity will last a total of 2½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult participant.
The route is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs; younger children can be carried in cribs or backpacks by their parents.
Other information
The activity is available at weekends from April to November, on a private basis for a maximum of 2 persons (or 3 persons, if the third participant is under 17).
In the case of a reservation for a couple, a child under 17 can also participate free of charge. Please inform the guide of your presence at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.
For safety reasons, dogs are not allowed.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; free parking is available on site.
