Full description
Spend 2 days on the snow in Val Maira, the pearl of ski mountaineering in province of Cuneo. Practice the sport you love together with an Alpine Guide who will accompany you to discover an unspoilt area, where there are no ski lifts!
You'll improve your ascent techniques with seal skins and reach the high mountain peaks before speeding downhill on fresh snow.
At the end of the first day, you will spend the night in the exclusive relais of Brieis, with an Occitan dinner, breakfast and wellness area included in the price.
The following day, you will set off again to discover other suggestive ski mountaineering itineraries, for an experience of total communion with the environment, experiencing, one after the other, unforgettable emotions.
What we will do
The meeting is set for 8.30 a.m. in front of the Brieis relais, in the hamlet of Borgata Superiore in the municipality of Marmora (CN).
First we will have an introductory briefing, during which the Alpine Guide will instruct us on self-rescue techniques and inform us about theitinerary we are going to undertake, choosing the most suitable routes according to the snowpack conditions and our level of experience.
When we are ready, we will begin to climb up the snow-covered slopes, admiring the wild beauty of the panorama, up to Monte Chiggia or Monte Cassorso. Once at the top, it will be time to enjoy theadrenaline rush of the descent on fresh snow, and then repeat the whole thing on a new route.
Around 4 p.m., we are scheduled to return to the Brieis releis, where we can relax in the Finnish sauna and outdoor Jacuzzi, before enjoying a typical Occitan dinner prepared for us by a starred chef.
The next day, breakfast at 7:30 a.m., and then ready to set off again for another intense day of ski mountaineering. The ascent to Passo della Gardetta awaits us, and from here to Bric Cassin, and then down to Prato Cioliero and the Viviere refuge where we will have lunch.
In the early afternoon we will continue on to the characteristic stone village of Chialvetta and finally await the Sherpa Bus that will take us back to the starting point, where we will say goodbye, happy to have spent two wonderful days together in the beautiful setting of the Maira Valley.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an intermediate/advanced level and requires the ability to climb 350/400 m per hour. At least one previous ski mountaineering experience is required. Participation is possible from the age of 15.
Other information
This activity can be carried out from December to April, subject to weather conditions and guide availability.
The outing is exclusive and is intended for private groups of 2 to 8 participants.
The participation fee includes half board at the relais in Brieis, the accompaniment of the Alpine Guide for 2 days and the Sherpa Bus service for the return on the last day.
