A journey through time via. .. wine!
We look forward to welcoming you to Calosso, at Adriano Grasso’s organic winery, for a truly immersive experience amongst UNESCO-listed vineyards and the warm hospitality of a family-run business.
During this experience, you’ll tour the vineyard and the winery, then settle down for a vertical tasting of three Barbera d’Asti wines from different vintages, accompanied by appetisers and food pairings specially selected for each glass!
What we will do
The event will take place at the selected time at the Adriano Grasso winery in Calosso, in the province of Asti, set against the backdrop of the area on the border between Monferrato and the Langhe.
We will be welcomed by our guide, who will introduce us to the history of this family-run business, now in its sixth generation, and to Adriano’s decision – a lifelong oenologist – to ‘return home’ to make his own wine using entirely natural methods.
We’ll begin our tour in the vineyard, discovering what makes this wine-growing region so special, particularly for Barbera d’Asti. We will be shown how the 6 hectares of organic vineyards are tended entirely by hand, in accordance with the lunar cycle and weather conditions, to preserve both the health of the vines and the UNESCO-listed landscape.
We’ll continue our tour in the cellar, admiring the 70-year-old wine press and venturing into the ageing rooms, where the guide will explain the winemaking process using natural yeasts, the absence of filtration and the ageing period of at least one year.
Afterwards, we will take our seats in the cosy tasting room, converted from the old cellar. Here we will begin the vertical tasting, consisting of three glasses of organic Barbera d’Asti from different vintages ( vintage, 2021 and the prized Riserva Parcellare, served exclusively from magnum bottles) .
Each glass will be paired with a different traditional appetiser to bring out its nuances, such as cured meats, bagna cauda and selected cheeses.
The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total.

This experience is recommended for those aged 18 and over.
The wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Any accompanying minors and non-drinkers may take part in the experience free of charge.
The venue is not accessible to people with mobility difficulties.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
