If you’d like to explore the natural beauty of Abruzzo in an original and sustainable way, get ready to climb aboard an icon from the 1990s!
In Roccaraso , a guided tour awaits you across the Altopiani Maggiori d’Abruzzo, , aboard restored vintage off-road vehicles powered by biodiesel! During the 2.5-hour excursion, you’ll cover 35 km of dirt tracks and enjoy stunning natural landscapes.
And to round off the day in style, you’ll get to enjoy a fantastic aperitif!
What we will do
We’ll meet 5 minutes before the scheduled time at the meeting point in Roccaraso (AQ). The guide who will be leading our excursion will be there to welcome us.
Before setting off, we’ll have an initial briefing on the route ahead and the vehicles we’ll be using: a Toyota and a vintage Land Rover Defender from the 1990s, both converted to run on biodiesel. Once we’ve got on board, the guide will take the wheel and we’ll set off along the dirt tracks of the Altopiani Maggiori d’Abruzzo.
Along the 35 km route, the guide will tell us about the local flora and fauna, giving us an up-close look at the area. We’ll be able to observe everything from the window and enjoy stops at the best vantage points, making the most of them to snap a few souvenir photos.
Once we arrive at Madonna del Casale, we’ll settle down on the benches in a green space to enjoy an aperitif ( included) featuring wine, caciocavallo cheese and local sausage. Finally, after a bit of relaxation in the countryside, we’ll get back on board the 4x4 to cover the final stretch of dirt track and return to the starting point.
The activity will last a total of 2. 5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for children aged 10 and over. Children under 18 may only take part if accompanied by a responsible parent.
During the experience, the off-road vehicle will be driven by the guide. There are 2 off-road vehicles available: each can accommodate a maximum of 4 participants.
This experience is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with walking difficulties.

The excursion is available all year round.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
