Tasting of wines and typical products with a visit to a winery in Lipari

Join our wine tasting at Tenuta di Castellaro on Lipari. In the company of a sommelier guide, you will venture into the scenic underground cellar and toast with the best labels of the house.

A 2-hour experience, enriched by a rich proposal of typical products!

What we will do

The appointment is 5 minutes before the selected time at Tenuta di Castellaro in Lipari (ME). We will be welcomed by the guide who will accompany us on a discovery of this winemaking reality in the heart of the Aeolian Islands!

Having gathered all the participants, the experience will begin on the panoramic terrace, enjoying a unique view of the archipelago; in this setting, the guide will tell us agronomic information and curiosities. We will then proceed with a visit to the winery: we will enter the production room, walking among steel tanks and amphorae, and then venture deep into the scenic underground barrique cellar. This first part of the experience will last about 30 minutes.

And now it is time for the wine tasting, which will take place outside or inside depending on the best weather conditions. Accompanying the tasting will be a sampling of typical products such as warm homemade bread seasoned with extra virgin olive oil from Etna, cold meats and cheeses from the Nebrodi and Aeolian Islands, crostini topped with organic caper pâté, cunzate olives and vegetables.

The wine tasting includes, depending on the option selected

• basic tasting: 3 glasses of wine such as Marsili Bianco or Rosato Metodo Ancestrale, Porticello Terre Siciliane Bianco IGT, Ypsilon Terre Siciliane Rosso IGT; classic wines from the estate.
• cru tasting: 3 glasses of wine such as Bianco Pomice Terre Siciliane Bianco IGT, Nero Ossidiana Terre Siciliane Rosso IGT and Malvasia delle Lipari DOC passito; the estate's most representative wines.
• native tasting: 3 glasses of wine such as Euxenos Terre Siciliane Bianco IGT, Corinto Terre Siciliane Rosso IGT and Malvasia delle Lipari DOC passito; the estate's most representative wines.

The experience will last a total of 2 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is recommended for participants aged 18 and over.

The wine tasting is reserved for participants aged 18 and over only. Any accompanying underage participants attend free of charge and may consume non-alcoholic beverages on site for a fee; please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate their presence.

The experience is wheelchair and/or pram accessible.

Other information

Attention! In the event of bad weather, the vineyard walk may not take place; the experience will only take place indoors.

The experience takes place from April to October.

Dogs are not allowed in the winery.

It is possible to enhance the experience with a light lunch at a cost of €10.00 per person to be paid on site. The light lunch includes, in addition to the tasting of typical products, a main dish such as aubergine parmigiana, Aeolian-style pasta, Aeolian-style salad or similar.

Free parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport or taxi.
