If only the Roman legionaries of ancient Aquileia knew what happened to their vines, they would probably have put down their shields much earlier.
Fortunately, today there are you who, instead of them, can enjoy the result of centuries of evolution at Cantina Valpanera! Together with a guide, you will visit the winery and continue with a tasting of five Friulian wines accompanied by local delicacies.
Because even modern palates deserve to be treated like emperors!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the Valpanera Winery in Fiumicello Villa Vicentina (UD), in the setting of a unique territory located between ancient Aquileia and the Grado lagoon.
We will be welcomed by a guide who will take us on a tour of the winery, to see the heart of production up close. We will discover the secrets of winemaking, how must is transformed into wine, and we will listen to the history of this reality linked to the DOC Friuli Aquileia, IGT Trevenezie and IGT Venezia Giulia designations.
Once the visit is over, the highlight will come: the tasting of five representative labels. We will take a seat in the dedicated room to taste Ribolla Gialla Spumantizzata, Malvasia, the famous Traminer Aromatico (awarded third best white wine in Italy in 2024) , Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and the prestigious Aquilio reserve. A complete itinerary that ranges from extra dry bubbles to the structure of the more complex reds.
To accompany our glasses, we will be served a local gastronomic accompaniment. We will be able to enjoy small samples of typical Friulian products, such as local cold cuts and cheeses, selected to create the perfect combination with the aromatic and spicy notes of the wines being tasted.
The experience will last about 2 hours in total .

The experience is recommended for 18 year olds and above. The wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Any accompanying under-age persons may participate in the experience free of charge and will be offered a non-alcoholic alternative.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
