Full description
An experience exploring the trades of yesteryear: the farmer and the livestock breeder!
You’ll visit an authentic farm, run with respect for the environment and the animals. You’ll meet cows, sheep and goats: you’ll be able to interact with the animals and watch a dairy goat being milked.
And if you choose to enhance the experience with a tasting session, you’ll get to sample some homemade goat’s milk cheeses!
What we will do
We’ll meet at the selected time at the meeting point in Mercato Saraceno (FC). Waiting for us there will be the guide – who is also an Educational Farm Operator – who will accompany us on this adventure!
Once all participants have gathered, the experience will begin with a presentation of the farm: we’ll discover an authentic and genuine setting, based on respect for the environment and the animals.
We’ll then get into the guide’s car to head to the animal sheds, which are about 6 km from the farm. We’ll drive through the rolling hills of Romagna, along country lanes lined with cultivated fields. Along the way, we’ll hear stories and interesting facts about the local area, and we might even stop to learn more about the seasonal crops!
We’ll then arrive at the stables, home to animals that live in a semi-wild state and which, for the occasion, may well be out grazing. First, we’ll visit the dairy goats: we’ll enter the barn, visit the milking parlour and watch a goat being milked! Still on board the vehicle, we’ll then visit the cows and sheep: we’ll enter the various barns and have the chance to interact with the animals.
Finally, we’ll return to the meeting point. If you have booked the ‘with tasting’ option, the experience will continue at the farm with a tasting of home-made goat’s milk cheeses, local baked goods and cured meats, accompanied by a glass of Sangiovese wine grown on the farm.
The experience will last approximately 1 hour in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from 3 years of age. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Other information
The experience takes place from March to October; on occasion, it may be shared with other people, exceeding the maximum number of 4 participants.
The duration may vary depending on the number of participants.
Important: Milking may not take place if, for operational reasons, it has recently taken place. This restriction is in the interests of the animal’s welfare.
Options are available for people with food allergies and/or intolerances: please contact the guide using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know of any dietary requirements.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
