Each goblet tells a story. And between the rows of this historic estate, you will have the opportunity to discover it sip by sip.
Come to Frascati, in the heart of the Castelli Romani, and enjoy a wine-tasting experience: you will walk along the famous cypress-lined avenue, descend into a cellar dug into the tuff more than 2000 years ago, and conclude with a guided tasting of 3 selected labels, accompanied by a rich aperitif with local flavours.
A journey between past and present, just a few kilometres from Rome!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the historic estate in Frascati, in the setting of the picturesque Castelli Romani. We will be welcomed by a guide who will take us on a journey through time, starting with a walk through the perfectly symmetrical romantic garden, from which we will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Capital.

We will continue along the avenue of centuries-old cypresses until we reach the heart of the property, where we will enter the most fascinating part of the experience.
We will descend about 15 metres down a scenic staircase to reach the ancient cellar: an intricate system of tunnels dug into the tufa over 2000 years ago, probably part of the terminal cistern of the Emperor Claudius' aqueduct. Here we can observe historical niches and archaeological remains, including traces of the Temple of Juno Regina, in an environment that still retains the charm of the past.
We will then go up to the modern wine cellar, where we will discover the technologies used to produce wines with a low sulphite content and learn more about the local grape varieties, such as Malvasia del Lazio and the rare Lecinaro. The guide will tell us about the wine-making process and the characteristics that distinguish Frascati DOC and DOCG.
Finally, we will sit down for the guided wine tasting: we will taste three glasses of wine (usually a bubbly, a white and a red, depending on availability) . This will be accompanied by an abundant aperitif with local products, including bread dressed with the estate's EVO oil, cold meats, cheeses, olives, spelt salads and the typical wine doughnuts.
The experience will last about 2 hours in total.

The tasting is intended for adults.
Any accompanying minors and people with astemia can participate in the experience at a reduced cost, which includes only a board of local products, accompanied by fruit juice or other non-alcoholic beverages, subject to availability.
The facility is wheelchair accessible.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
