Pliny the Soldier, Rhum nicknamed the Astronaut, Jacko called Gianduiotto and Venus the Princess.
Superheroes? Comic book characters? No, it's the alpacas and llamas who will accompany you on this sweet adventure in the hills above Scandicci, a stone's throw from Florence!
Take a one-hour walk in the company of these friendly animals along the white paths of the Tuscan hills, among woods, olive groves and the quiet of this enchanting nature for a moment of relaxation and tenderness.
What we will do
We will meet in Scandicci, in the province of Florence, at the time selected during the booking process. We will be welcomed here by Camilla, a veterinary doctor, or by the dedicated staff and taken to the field where alpacas and llamas live and graze. We will then get to know all the tender animals: Pliny the Soldier, Enigma, Maco the Good Giant, Rhum the Astronaut, Pericles, Elvis 'Slow Leg' and many others!
Camilla will introduce them to us, also telling us about their characteristics and peculiarities, and once we have established a particular harmony or natural liking, we will decide which of them will accompany us on this adventure. After a briefing on how to lead the animal during the walk, we will be ready to go.
The 1-hour walk takes place along paths in the woods and fields of Scandicci, adapting to our sensibilities: we can walk while enjoying the quietness of the place and admiring the beautiful landscape, or listen to Camilla's stories, interacting with our new friend. The route, easy and suitable for everyone, will be about 2-3 km.
Back at the venue, we will be given carrots to give as thanks to our walking companion. Finally, we will lead him back to graze in the field. After a final caress and goodbye, we will conclude this beautiful experience of about 1½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at everyone from 3 years of age. Children from 3 years of age may lead the animal under the supervision of the guide.
Children over the age of 14 may participate in the activity without the accompaniment of a responsible adult, subject to signed authorisation (required up to the age of 18).
The route is not accessible with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round.
There is an allocation of 1 alpaca per person. Depending on the number of participants Adults (6 years and older) and Children (up to 5 years), please select the corresponding option in the booking box.
No accompanying persons are expected.
The facility, which is among the top 10 "Talking Places" for assisted intervention, is difficult to reach by public transport.
Dogs are not allowed either in the facility or during the experience.
