Have you ever thought that a glass of wine can tell the story of epic battles and courageous rebirths?
Here in Valdobbiadene, you will walk with a guide who is an expert on wartime events among the memories of the Great War hidden beneath the UNESCO World Heritage Hills, and then take refuge in the warmth of the Sandrin Winery.
You will feel at home, but with a few extra glasses: in fact, we will end on a high note with a tasting of sparkling wines, served with a board of local products!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the Azienda Agricola Sandrin in Valdobbiadene (TV). We will be welcomed by our guide, an expert local history enthusiast, who will take us on a journey back in time more than a hundred years.
We will begin with a guided walk of about 4-5 km that winds along the hillside. We will reach a recovered trench about a kilometre from the winery, where the guide will reveal the background of the Great War and the strategic importance of this front.
As we explore these places steeped in memory, we will have the opportunity to observe the area from two different points of view: the wartime and the wine-growing side, discovering how nature has returned to flourish in such hard-hit lands.
After a short climb up the hill, we will return to the winery for a moment of relaxation. We will sit down for a tasting of 3 sparkling wines, the ultimate expression of the Prosecco Hills of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano. To accompany the glasses, there will be a rich platter of local cured meats, perfect to end the activity in conviviality.
The experience will last a total of about 3 hours (including 2 hours of walking) .
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended from 12 years of age. The wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Children up to the age of 11 participate free of charge.
The activity is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with pushchairs.

The experience takes place all year round.

Dogs are allowed on request during the activity.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport (there is a bus stop about 10 minutes away) .

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
