Croissant, Candy, Peach, Chocolat, Cream, Peanut... no, we are not trying to win you over with sweets, but with a family of sweet alpacas.
Join us for a 1-hour walk with these friendly animals through the woods of the Varaita Valley, in the province of Cuneo. During the walk, you can accompany the alpacas at their leisurely pace and ask the guide all the questions you want.
A perfect experience for children... or for tender-hearted adults!
What we will do
The appointment is in Venasca (CN), 15 minutes before the time chosen for the walk.
I will welcome you to my farm immersed in the nature of the Varaita Valley. First of all, I will take you to meet our cheerful family of alpacas: 15 specimens including males, females and puppies with names as funny as their little faces. Croissant, Bartali, Chestnut, Olivia, Candy, Peach, Chocolat, Cloud and many more!
In the first quarter of an hour, we will prepare the alpacas to accompany us on our walk by putting the halter on them and I will give you some directions on how to lead them. After leaving the farm, we will walk along a 4-km route through the Venasca woods, in the direction of the nearby village of Brossasco. We will follow the animals at their pace and stop to let them graze along the path.
During the walk you will be able to ask me all the questions you want, to satisfy any curiosity about this species native to South America. Of course, I will also take some souvenir photos that I will send to your phone at the end of the activity.
We will return to the starting point by the same route as the outward journey. Here, for those who wish, it will be possible to continue the day with a visit to our educational farm, which is home to many exotic and non-exotic animals: dwarf goats, chinchillas, squirrels, prairie dogs, and above all the mythical dromedary Horace. The visit (selectable when booking) will last about 1 hour.
Before returning home, you will also have the opportunity to admire and purchase, if you wish, our handicrafts made from alpaca wool. A tender memento of this experience!
The activity will last 1 hour and 15 minutes for the walk or 2 hours and 15 minutes if you choose to also visit the farm.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to everyone, with no age limit; children from 0 to 1 year old participate free of charge. Children under the age of 6 cannot lead the alpacas alone, but must be accompanied by a parent. For minors , the presence of an accompanying adult is required.
The route is not accessible by wheelchair and pushchair. It is advisable to carry any infants in baby carriers.
Other information
The activity is available every day of the year except Tuesdays and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants (leading the alpacas).
A maximum of 10 animals are involved in the walk. It is possible to take part in the experience as a participant, holding the animal by the halter, or as a companion, without holding the animal.
The excursion could take place at the same time as the "Walk with the world's smallest ponies in the province of Cuneo".
When booking, you can choose between the simple "walk" or the "walk + farm" if you wish to meet the farm animals up close. The guided tour of the farm will last 1 hour and can be held before or after the walk, depending on the time of year and in agreement with the guide.
It is also possible to enrich the experience with an aperitif based on local products at a cost of €20.00 per person to be paid on site: cold meats, cheeses and bread, either homemade or from neighbouring areas, accompanied by a drink; options for people with food intolerances and/or allergies are not available, options for vegetarians and/or vegans are available. Dogs are not allowed to participate in the activity.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
