Get ready for a journey through time and taste!
Come and discover Meleto Castle in Gaiole in Chianti (SI), a charming 11th-century stronghold. A guided open-air tour awaits you, amidst the scents of the woods and vineyards, followed by a tour of the castle’s halls.
And to round off the experience, you’ll finish with a tasting of three superb wines, accompanied by bruschetta made with local extra virgin olive oil!
What we will do
We’ll meet at the selected time at Meleto Castle in Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena, set amidst the Chianti Classico region. We’ll be welcomed by our guide, who’ll kick off our adventure right from the castle gardens.
As we make our way through the aromatic garden, we’ll admire the estate’s organic vineyards and the panoramic view over the surrounding hills and woods . We’ll then pass through the fortress gates to explore the interior of the castle.
We’ll visit the most fascinating and historically rich rooms, including the halls on the main floor, an authentic 18th-century theatre and the evocative vinsantaia – the magical place where the famous Vin Santo is aged.
Once we’ve feasted our eyes, it will be time to treat our palates: we’ll move to a dedicated room for the long-awaited guided tasting. Here we’ll raise our glasses to savour three different expressions of Chianti wine: Chianti Classico Annata, Chianti Classico Riserva and the prestigious Gran Selezione.
The tasting will be accompanied by a delicious bruschetta topped with extra virgin olive oil produced directly on the estate.
The experience will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in total .
Who it is aimed at
This experience is recommended for those aged 18 and over, as the wine tasting is restricted to adults only.
Minors may take part in the experience as ‘accompanying guests’ at a cost of €10 for children aged 7 to 17, whilst admission is free for children under 6.
The venue is not fully wheelchair accessible: it is possible to arrange a private tour at an additional cost of €20. 00 for a personalised experience with dedicated staff.

The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed provided there is a minimum of two people.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
