Come and discover the Castle of Montegrosso d'Asti, where the Motta family will welcome you for a guided tour through historic cellars and evocative 'grottini'.
A 2-hour experience awaits you, culminating with the tasting of 3 excellent wines, accompanied by a tasty platter of local products!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the Castle of Montegrosso D'Asti (AT) , located among the beautiful hills of Roero and Monferrato.
We will be welcomed by our guide, who will take us inside this historic building built in 1134 by Marquis Bonifacio del Vasto, which has survived French bombardments and disputes between Guelphs and Ghibellines, and is now the private residence of the Motta family.
We will begin a fascinating tour through the most evocative parts of the fortress, accessing the ancient cellars. We will then descend into the characteristic grottini located at a depth of nine metres, where the atmosphere is timeless amidst precious reserves that have been resting uninterruptedly since 1935.
The tour will continue by taking us to the oldest room in the castle, dating back to 1100. It is in this fascinating setting that we will conclude the experience with a guided wine tasting.
We will have the pleasure of tasting 3 wines of excellence: Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG and Monferrato Rosso DOC. To enhance the flavours of the territory, the glasses will be accompanied by a board of selected local products.
The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended for 18 years and over, as the wine tasting is reserved for adults only.
Any accompanying under-age persons can participate at the reduced cost of €10. 00 (7 to 12 years) or €15. 00 (13 to 17 years), which includes the tour, a non-alcoholic drink and the wine tasting board ( children up to 6 years attend free of charge) .
The structure is only partially accessible to people with mobility problems: it is possible to reach the entrance by car and access the first cellar via a ramp, but the presence of architectural barriers prevents visits to the upper floors and the dedicated tasting room.

The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 people.

Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a leash throughout the visit.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
