Full description
Visit one of the most historic wine cellars in Apulia: Castel di Salve, in Tricase in the province of Lecce, is ready to open its doors to you.
During thetwo-hour experience , you will discover the history and philosophy of thisfamily-run winery, founded in 1885 by Antonio Winspeare, Duke of Salve.
Take a tour of the vineyard and a guided tour of the wine cellar to admire the scenic barrel cellar, then enjoy a tasting of four wines, including one white, one rosé and two reds. Raise your glasses to toast!
What we will do
The appointment is at Castel di Salve in Tricase (LE), 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.
The visit will begin in the courtyard, where the winery staff will welcome us for an introduction on the history of the winery. Founded in 1885 by the Duke of Salve Antonio Winspeare, the winery is a beautiful example of 19th-century industrial architecture: one of the most historic wineries in Puglia and the one located furthest south, it is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the Winspeare family.
We will continue the visit by entering the production rooms, with the fermentation tanks, then we will go out behind the winery for a tour of the vineyard, where we will discover some of the varieties grown here. After this walk in the open air, we will descend to the barrique cellar to admire the oak barrels used to age the wines, and then visit the bottling rooms.
At the end of the visit, which will last about 45 minutes, we will sit in the tasting room to taste some of the winery's most representative wines, made from varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia Nera and Verdeca.
The tasting will include 4 glasses of wine, usually 1 white, 1 still rosé and 2 reds, chosen according to availability. The wines will be accompanied by an explanation of their characteristics and snacks such as taralli.
The activity will last a total of 2 hours, including about 45 minutes of visiting and an hour and a quarter of tasting.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 2 years. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The wine tasting is for adults only. Minors may participate in the experience for a reduced fee, and water and juice will be available for them.
The winery is wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with the exception of the barrel cellar.

The experience is available all year round from Monday to Friday and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
