WHO ARE ELI?
You can try to guess where the name of this Alto Monferrato winery, , comes from, or come and visit them to hear their story first-hand.
If you choose the second option (and we highly recommend it) , you’re in for a wonderful guided walk through the vineyards, a tour of the winery and a wine tasting paired with typical Monferrato cheeses and cured meats.
In short, do you really need any more convincing?
What we will do
The event will take place at the Chielisò Winery in Gavonata, a hamlet of Cassine (AL), set against the stunning backdrop of the Alto Monferrato hills. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will take us on a journey through time and taste, following in the footsteps of the family’s winemaking tradition, which began in the early 1900s.
We’ll begin our tour with a walk through the vineyard lasting around 30 minutes, weather permitting, during which the cultivation techniques will be explained to us in detail. Most of the vineyards are situated within the ‘Bosco delle Sorti – La Communa’ nature reserve, a picturesque and protected area that will lend a unique charm to our walk.
We will then move indoors for a tour of the winery. We will explore both the upper and underground cellars, taking a close look at the areas dedicated to winemaking and the fascinating barrel cellar.
Finally, we’ll take our seats in the tasting room next to the cellar. Here we will taste three glasses of wine of your choice from a selection of no fewer than seven labels produced on the estate, including Barbera, Dolcetto d’Acqui, Monferrato Freisa, Cortese dell’Alto Monferrato, Moscato Bianco and Syrah.
To make the occasion even more convivial, the glasses of wine will be accompanied by local specialities such as cheeses, cured meats and baked goods.
The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total .
