Full description

As Piedmontese as it gets!

Let’s talk about the experience that awaits you at Adriano Grasso’s organic winery in Calosso, amongst the UNESCO World Heritage vineyards of Monferrato and Langhe.

After a tour of the winery, you’ll be treated to a fantastic ‘merenda sinoira’ and a tasting of three glasses of organic wine.

A return to the roots and the local area, which will let you discover wine made ‘as nature intended’!

What we will do

The tour takes place at the selected time at the Adriano Grasso winery in Calosso, in the province of Asti, set against the picturesque backdrop on the border between Monferrato and the Langhe.

We will be welcomed by Adriano himself, our guide and oenologist, who will introduce us to the history of this family-run business, which has been in the family for six generations, and explain its production philosophy, which focuses on a return to its roots and the local terroir.

We’ll begin our tour straight in the vineyard, discovering the unique characteristics of this exceptional terroir for Barbera d’Asti, Moscato d’Asti and Gamba Rossa, a rare grape variety characteristic of the area. We’ll learn how manual labour and organic practices help preserve the UNESCO-listed landscape and the health of the vines, with the care of the 6 hectares of vineyards guided by lunar cycles and weather conditions.

We’ll continue the tour by admiring the 70-year-old wine press and venturing into the cellar’s ageing rooms, where we’ll discover the secrets of wines produced with natural yeasts, unfiltered and aged for at least a year.

Afterwards, we’ll settle into the cosy tasting room, converted from the old cellar and warmed by the cosiness of a romantic open fire. Here, we’ll enjoy a tasting comprising three glasses of organic wine: one Metodo Classico Brut and two glasses of Barbera d’Asti.

All this will be accompanied by a generous, traditional ‘merenda sinoira’ (evening snack) , featuring a mixed platter of cold cuts, cheeses, toasted bread with butter and anchovies, and delicious grape mostarda.

The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total.
