La luna e i falò, Sogni al Campo, Paesi Tuoi: these are not just titles of novels by Cesare Pavese, but some of the labels you will taste in this wine tasting at the Vite Colte winery in Barolo, in the beating heart of the Langhe.
This is not a simple wine-tasting tour , but a journey that recounts the food and wine culture (and not only) of this region. In fact, you will visit the largest wine cellar with barrel cellar in Piedmont, discovering the products born from the grapes of more than 180 vine growers throughout the territory.
What we will do
The appointment is 5 minutes before the time selected at the time of booking at the Vite Colte winery in Barolo (CN). On arrival, we will be welcomed by the guide who will accompany us on a tour of the winery and wine tasting.
Once all the participants have gathered, we will begin to walk along an 800-metre walkway that winds its way through the exterior and interior of the winery, enriched with illustrative panels to support the guide's explanations. Outside, we will find photos of the grape growers, while in the cellar we will admire drawings signed by the artist MAUPAL illustrating the entire winemaking process.
It will be an itinerant tour of around 40 minutes , during which we will pass over the production areas of the bottles, visiting 4 rooms: the Nebbiolo Room, the Technology Room, the Ageing Room (where more than 3000 barriques are kept) and finally the Bottling Room.
At the end of the tour, we will be seated at the tables of the wine shop where our tasting of 4 glasses of wine will take place. In order we will taste
- Piedmont Sauvignon D.O.C."Tra Donne Sole"
- Barbera d'Asti D.O.C.G. Superiore "La Luna e i Falò'" (the winery's best known and most awarded wine)
- Langhe Nebbiolo D.O.C. "Sogni al Campo"
- Barolo D.O.C.G. "Paesi Tuoi".
The tasting will be accompanied by a small platter of local cold meats and cheeses and dry baked goods. The experience will last about 1.5 hours in total .
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended for participants aged 18 and over.
The wine tasting is reserved for participants aged 18 and over only. Accompanying persons under 18 years of age or persons with astemia can participate in the experience by selecting the"Accompanying persons" option when booking.
The tasting room is wheelchair-accessible; a companion is required for the cellar visit.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round with the exception of February.
There is free parking for guests on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
Dogs are only allowed in the tasting room; they are not allowed in the cellar.
For those who wish to complete the experience with lunch, there is a restaurant on the premises that is open from 12:00 to 14:00.
