Full description
That you eat well in Puglia is no secret. Yet, we bet your palate hasn't experienced such a harmony of flavours in a long time!
Take part in this wine tasting with winery visit in Locorotondo, in the beautiful Itria Valley. A 1-hour experience to discover the most authentic expression of the MIR winery, born from the intuition of Guglielmo Zito, where period architecture meets the art of producing natural wines, skilfully combined with local products.
What we will do
The meeting is scheduled 10 minutes before the starting time at the MIR Winery in Locorotondo (BA), where we will be welcomed by the guide inside a fascinating historical building dating back to 1860.
We will begin by exploring the cellar's basement, entirely dug into the limestone rock typical of the region. This is where the winery's production heart beats: we will walk through the ageing areas where the wines rest unhurriedly in amphorae and French oak tonneaux, discovering the philosophy of founder Guglielmo Zito, aimed at preserving nature, life cycles and the cultural identity of the Itria Valley.
We will then go upstairs to the comfortable tasting room to begin a food and wine journey based on a harmony of flavours and careful pairings.
We will taste a selection of four glasses of wine (including whites, reds and rosés, including the special house Orange Wines) , accompanied by a rich platter of local specialities. We will enjoy fresh and aged cheeses paired with jams, taralli, friselle, Apulian olives and artisanal condiments made from must and extra virgin olive oil.
The experience will last about 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended for participants aged 18 and over, as wine tasting is reserved for participants aged 18 and over. Underage participants may participate at a reduced rate and will be offered alternative non-alcoholic drinks.
The facility is accessible on request for wheelchair users and pushchairs: please indicate this in advance so that the staff can best organise the visit with an accompanying person.

The tasting is available all year round and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
