Wine tasting and tour of a historic estate in the province of Gorizia

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of an 18th-century villa in the Colli Orientali del Friuli: Tenuta di Angoris, in Cormons, is ready to open its doors to you.

Visit the historic Villa Locatelli, which also appeared in the pages of Hemingway's novels, walk among the barrels in the barrique cellar and taste 3 of the winery's best wines, accompanied by excellent local gastronomy.

One glass of wine after another, get ready for anhour and a half of sweet escape!

What we will do

The appointment is at the Tenuta di Angoris in Cormons (GO), 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.

Accompanied by our guide Daniel, we will begin with a tour of the shop where we will be introduced to the different labels of the winery and its production philosophy. We will then visit the estate's beautiful park and the interior of Villa Locatelli, a manor house dating back to the 18th century, whose fascinating history the guide will tell us.

A curiosity: during the First World War, the villa was transformed into a military hospital where the writer Ernest Hemingway, who would set his famous novel Farewell to Arms here, also passed through.

At the end of the tour of the villa, we will move on to the cellar to visit various rooms, including the barrique cellar, where the explanation of the wines and regional DOCs will continue. Once all our curiosities have been satisfied, we will be ready to sit down in the tasting room, where we will have the opportunity to taste 3 wines from the Tenuta di Angoris:

• the exuberant sparkling wine "Modolet" Charmat method
• the authentic " Friulano" from the "Angoris" DOC Friuli Colli Orientali line;
• the lively "Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso" of the "Villa Locatelli" line DOC Isonzo.

The tasting will also include a sampling of typical local products such as San Daniele ham and Montasio cheese.

The experience will last a total of 1 .5 hours, with approximately 1 hour of visiting and 30 minutes of tasting.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is recommended for 18 year olds and above.

The wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Minors can take part in the experience free of charge; water and juices will be available for them.

The estate is accessible with buggies and prams, with the exception of the barrique cellar.

Other information

The experience is available all year round, from Monday to Saturday, and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 people.

On-site parking is available for guests and it is possible to reach the winery by public transport (bus stop about 500 m away).

Dogs are welcome; they have access to all areas except the wine cellar.
