If ‘a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away’, just imagine how many benefits you’ll enjoy after drinking seven!
If you fancy switching off and leaving the usual city-centre aperitif behind, come and discover Cantina Le Macchie in Castelfranco, in the province of Rieti: you’ll tour the winery, before treating yourself to an exclusive guided tasting of seven wines paired with a gourmet culinary experience!
What we will do
Please arrive 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Castelfranco (RI). The experience takes place at Cantina Le Macchie, in the hills of Monte Terminillo.
Once there, we’ll meet the sommelier who’ll guide us on a tour of this winery. Once all participants have gathered, we’ll drive about 1 km in our own cars to the vineyard rows for a picturesque stroll amongst the vines.
Once finished, we’ll return to the starting point for a guided tour of the historic cellar: we’ll walk through the recently renovated underground chambers, seeing the remains of the vats where grapes were crushed and fermented as far back as the 1400s. We will then visit the modern production area. Along the way , we’ll explore the history of the region, the winery and wine production.
Finally, we’ll take our seats for an exclusive gastronomic experience: a guided tasting of seven wines expertly paired with seven gourmet courses, designed to create perfect harmony between food and wine.
The experience will last approximately 4 hours in total, of which around 1½ hours will be devoted to the tour of the estate.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is for those aged 18 and over. Children of any age are welcome and may take part free of charge provided they are accompanied by an adult participant.

The experience takes place all year round from Tuesday to Sunday.
