They say that good wine comes in small barrels, but have you ever tried to find out what’s inside those big ones? Spoiler: pure Tuscan poetry!
Come and experience the Classic tasting at the Le Buche winery, in the province of Siena, where the grapes embark on their magical journey from the vine to the glass. A tour of the production rooms will give you a real sense of what it means to work the land with pure passion!
An authentic experience awaits you, capped off by a tasting of three glasses of award-winning wines, accompanied by fragrant bruschetta with locally sourced extra virgin olive oil!
What we will do
The event will take place at the selected time at the Le Buche winery in Sarteano, in the province of Siena, set against the stunning backdrop of the Tuscan countryside. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will be ready to open the estate’s doors to us and reveal the history of the winery and the distinctive characteristics of the grape varieties grown there.
We’ll begin with a brief introduction, during which we’ll discover the origins of it all and a production philosophy based exclusively on manual labour, without the use of machinery. We’ll then proceed into the fermentation room to understand the first delicate stages of the must’s transformation. The tour will continue inside the evocative ageing cellar, where we’ll discover the secrets of the wine’s maturation and the different types of barrels used for ageing.
Finally, we’ll take our seats in the tasting room for the most eagerly awaited part of the tour. We’ll taste three glasses of the winery’s multi-award-winning wines: the fresh, mineral-driven Orhora IGT Toscana white, the rounded Le Buche Orcia DOC made from Sangiovese, and the prestigious Tempore IGT Toscana, a Bordeaux-style blend aged for around three years in French oak barrels (which may be replaced, subject to availability, with the Memento Orcia DOC Riserva, aged for a minimum of 24 months) .
During our tasting, we will also be served bruschetta with locally sourced extra virgin olive oil, produced directly at the La Sovana agritourism olive press using olives harvested from the estate’s own olive groves.
The experience will last approximately 50 minutes in total.
Who it is aimed at
The wine tasting is for adults only. Those under 18 and non-drinkers may take part in the experience free of charge; there are no dedicated non-alcoholic options, but if they wish to eat only, they can let us know in advance using the contact details provided in the booking confirmation email and pay their fee on the day.
The venue is accessible to wheelchair users, people with reduced mobility and those with pushchairs.
Other information
The experience runs all year round: from 1 November to 1 April, Monday to Friday, and for the rest of the year, Monday to Saturday. The activity is confirmed once the minimum number of 2 participants has been reached during the week and 6 participants on Saturdays.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
