Full description
In Ginosa, wine isn’t just something you drink: you listen to it, smell it and experience it amongst vineyards and centuries-old olive trees.
On this wine-tasting experience in the Terra delle Gravine, you’ll visit a family-run winery with over 40 years of history, strolling amongst the rows of vines and monumental trees before stepping into the heart of the production process.
During the tour, you’ll discover the secrets of winemaking and taste six of the estate’s wines, ranging from white to Primitivo, accompanied by bruschetta with aromatised oils produced on site.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the specified time at the meeting point in Ginosa (TA), in the picturesque setting of the Terra delle Gravine. We’ll be welcomed by the guide who will accompany us throughout the experience.
We’ll begin with a walk through the estate’s vineyards, which cover around 10 hectares planted using espalier and trellis systems. Here, we’ll learn about the cultivation techniques and the history of local wine production, drawing on over 40 years of experience. We’ll then continue through the olive groves, home to around 40 trees – some of which are over a century old – to understand the deep connection between the land and its produce.
Next , we’ll enter the small cellar, where the processes involved in transforming the grapes will be explained: from fermentation to ageing, right through to the creation of the wines.
Finally, we’ll take our seats in the tastingarea (or outdoors during the summer months) where we’ll sample six of the estate’s wines, including whites, Primitivo-based reds and a natural passito wine. All this will be accompanied by bruschetta with aromatised oils produced on site.
The experience will last approximately 2 hours in total.
