What we will do

The event takes place at the selected time at the GranCollina winery in San Damiano d’Asti (AT), set against the backdrop of the rolling hills of the lower Monferrato region on the border with the Langhe. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will take us on a journey through the world of winemaking and the history of the Cotto family, now in its fifth generation.

The tour will begin at the Tavernetta della GranCollina, once the family’s old stable and now furnished with traditional Piedmontese artefacts and antique furniture. From here, we’ll move into the winery itself, where the guide will explain the winery’s characteristics, its philosophy and the winemaking process.

During the tour, which lasts around 50 minutes, we’ll explore the production areas and the ageing cellar. We’ll see the wooden barrels used to age great red wines such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Bonarda, as well as the steel and fibreglass vats. The tasting will be interactive: we’ll be given a wine glass and will sample at least five wines drawn directly from the barrels, whilst the guide explains the characteristics of each wine as we taste them.

Once the guided tour is over, we’ll head to the restaurant for lunch or dinner, featuring a full-course menu based on traditional Piedmontese dishes. The menu includes three starters, one first course, one main course with a side dish and one dessert (with seasonal options including, for example, Fassona beef tartare, young cockerel salad, flan with cream cheese, Russian salad, tajarin or agnolotti del plin with ragù, Fassona beef with roast potatoes and panna cotta) . The meal includes one glass of red Barbera and a bottle of water.

The experience will last approximately 3 hours in total.

This experience is recommended for those aged 18 and over.

The wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Any accompanying minors or non-drinkers may take part in the tour free of charge; no alternative drinks are provided for them, but it is possible to purchase additional drinks on site.

For lunch or dinner, you can select the Children’s Menu at the time of booking for €20, which includes a starter (e. g. cooked ham) and a pasta dish of your choice (plain, tomato or meat sauce) with water.

The venue is accessible to people with mobility issues.
