What could be better than a good glass of wine? Sipping it whilst looking out over the Roero hills!
Come and discover the magic of Cascina Ciapat in Montaldo Roero: a picturesque stroll through the historic vineyards and a tour of the Bertello family’s winery await you.
The grand finale features a generous tasting of local wines , accompanied by local cured meats, cheeses and hazelnuts!
What we will do
The meeting point is at the selected time at Cascina Ciapat in Montaldo Roero, in the province of Cuneo, set in a natural setting amongst vineyards, orchards and woods. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will take us on a tour of this historic family-run estate, founded way back in 1850.
We’ll begin our tour with a stroll through the historic Nebbiolo or Roero Arneis vineyard adjacent to the farmhouse. From the top of the hill, situated right on the border with the village of Monteu Roero, we’ll be able to admire the splendid view of the Rocche del Roero mountain range, catching a glimpse of its castles and medieval towers.
Next, we’ll step into the heart of the winery, housed within the old farmhouse, which has been in the family for four generations. Together, we’ll visit the artisanal workshop, where we’ll be guided through all the production processes, from the early stages of winemaking right through to the final bottling. During the tour, we’ll also sample a wine straight from the stainless-steel vat .
It will then be time to take our seats at the table for the tasting itself . We’ll taste two wines of your choice, exquisitely paired with salami, cheese, Cugnà di Nebbiolo or honey, not to mention the delicious hazelnuts. To round off on a sweet note, we’ll enjoy the Nebbiolo Chinato Famija, a digestif perfect for dessert.
The experience will last approximately one and a half hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is recommended for those aged 18 and over, as the wine tasting is restricted to adults only. Any accompanying minors may take part free of charge. Children are welcome and free to explore: there are dedicated spaces for them, a play area and fun hands-on workshops involving herbs or water transfer activities.
The venue is wheelchair accessible.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
