Today we’re taking you to discover a new corner of Franciacorta.
It’s at the foot of Monte Orfano, where our food and wine experience takes place: in the company of the winemaker himself, you’ll visit the historic winery and taste local organic wines, set against the backdrop of a characteristic Lombard farmhouse dating back to 1413.
A 2-hour experience, because there’s more to it than just the bubbles!
What we will do
The meeting point is at the selected time at La Riccafana, a historic winery situated in Cologne (BS) , in the heart of Franciacorta and at the foot of Monte Orfano.
On arrival, we will meet the guide and the other participants in the experience. The experience consists of a walk through the vineyard followed by a tour of the cellar, which is carved 40 metres into the slopes of Monte Orfano. During the walk through the vineyard, we’ll discover the local area and learn about grape cultivation, whilst in the cellar we’ll explore the production of organic wine in greater depth. This part lasts approximately 1 hour.
We will then take our seats in the tasting room, housed in a characteristic Lombard farmhouse dating from 1413, for a tasting of local organic wines and other products: we will taste 1 Metodo Classico (68 months on the lees and zero dosage) , one organic red wine from Monte Orfano and one white wine made from Verdicchio grapes, to celebrate the producer’s second estate, located in the Marche region. These will be accompanied by cured meats, Grana cheese, breadsticks, and olive oil from Franciacorta and the Marche; there will also be a taste of the house’s organic grappa.
The experience lasts approximately 2 hours in total.

This experience is recommended for those aged 18 and over.
The wine tasting is reserved for participants of legal drinking age only. Any accompanying minors will be served fruit juice.
The experience is wheelchair accessible, except for the walk through the vineyard.

The experience runs all year round and is confirmed once the minimum number of 2 participants has been reached.
There are no options available for people with food allergies or intolerances.
Small dogs are allowed: please contact the venue using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know your four-legged friend will be joining you.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
