What could be better than a horseback ride? A horseback ride through an area rich in history!
With this 2-hour excursion in the province of Varese you can explore the paths of the Cadorna Line, built for defence purposes during the First World War. An equestrian guide will be at your side to teach you the basics of horse riding and tell you many interesting anecdotes about the history of the area.
Fascinating buildings and wonderful views are guaranteed!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Viggiù (VA), where our equestrian guide will be waiting for us. After an initial welcome, we will have a briefing of about 20 minutes during which we will familiarise ourselves with our horse and find out how to give him a few simple commands. We will then saddle him up together and be ready to set off on our walk!
We will ride along the paths that wind along the so-called Cadorna Line, the frontier made up of defence works built to protect the economic and productive centres of the Po Valley during the First World War. Along the route, immersed in nature, we will arm ourselves with torches (included) and explore some bunkers dating back to that historical period while the guide will explain some interesting anecdotes about the area.
As we proceed along the pass, we will enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Como, Lake Ceresio and, in the distance, Lake Maggiore and Monte Rosa. This will be an experience that will combine the fascination of history with the relaxation of horse riding and will last about 2 hours in total.
At the end of the activity, if we have selected the appropriate option when booking, we will be able to refresh ourselves with a delicious aperitif (included), which will include an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink of your choice and a platter of cold meats and cheeses.

A maximum weight of 100 kg is required to participate.

The activity is available all year round except in June, July and August.
Western riding will be used. To participate, you must wear tennis shoes; otherwise, you will not be able to take part in the activity.
If you wish to conclude the walk with an aperitif, you can select the Walk + Aperitif option when booking. The menu will include a beer, cocktail or glass of wine accompanied by a platter of cold meats and cheeses. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. In the event of allergies or intolerances, it will be possible to request an alternative via the contact details in the booking confirmation e-mail.
Escorts with dogs on a leash are permitted.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and free parking spaces are available nearby.
