Blessed be the aperitif hour! And more than that, it really is difficult.
At the SAIO winery, a stone's throw from the Basilica of St Francis of Assisi, you can enjoy an aperitif that includes the tasting of 5 glasses of wine accompanied by typical Umbrian products.
An experience of over 1 hour that you can end with a walk in the vineyard with a panoramic view over the city!
What we will do
The appointment is at the indicated time at the SAIO Winery in Assisi (PG) . We will be welcomed by the winery staff, who will seat us in the dedicated tasting room .
The aperitif will include a guided tasting of a selection of 5 SAIO Assisi wines accompanied by typical Umbrian products such as bruschetta with homemade extra virgin olive oil, homemade pecorino and caciotta cheeses, torta al testo and typical cured meats. It will be an hour dedicated to the discovery of native, local and international grape varieties, fermentation and ageing.
After the tasting, we will have plenty of time to enjoy a stroll through the estate's vineyards, olive groves and oak trees, following a route lasting about 30 minutes in which you will find information boards on viticulture and the history of the winery among the rows.
The experience will last about 1½ hours in total .

The experience is suitable for everyone without age limits. Wine tasting is reserved for participants over 18 years of age.
Children can participate at a reduced cost including soft drink or free of charge up to the age of 5.
The experience is also accessible by wheelchair or pushchair.

The winery is located approximately 1. 5 km from the outer walls of Assisi. It is suggested to reach it by private car, taxi, or bicycle, and not on foot, since part of the street has no pavement.
