Full description
On the slopes of the Lagorai mountain range, there is a place where aspiring princesses and knights can finally find the noble steed of their dreams: here dwells the snow-white Sky, the beautiful Aria di Pioggia, the 'philosopher' horse Socrates and the funny and tender Gypsy.
If you are looking for an activity to introduce the little ones to the world of horse riding, then you can't miss the appointment with these adorable horses and our riding guide in Baselga di Pinè! It will be aone-hour experience designed to teach children to ride for the first time and let them discover the 'magic' of horses!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Baselga di Piné (TN). Welcoming children and youngsters will be our equestrian guide Katia, in the company of her adorable horses: Sky, Aria di Pioggia, Socrates and Gypsy!
Once the young participants have gathered, the activity will begin with a first phase of getting to know the animal: the guide will explain and show each child how to approach the horse safely, after which she will help them brush and saddle them.
Once the horses are ready, the group will head to the riding arena where the children will finally be able to get on the saddle and discover the feeling of being on a horse for the first time. They will then move on to some balancing exercises, where they will try petting the animal as it walks, or putting on the stirrups themselves.
After becoming familiar with the horse on the move, the guide will teach the basic riding techniques: how to turn left and right, how to stop and restart the horse, and even some handling figures (circle, serpentine, diagonal) . To conclude this preparatory riding phase, participants can also try their hand at a short course in the field to show what they have learnt.
Afterwards, there will be a short break including a debriefing to discuss all together what has just been learnt. Finally, the experience will end with a walk of about 15 minutes outside the riding school, where the young participants will ride surrounded by the landscape of the Lagorai slopes. For the occasion, the guide will not fail to take some souvenir photos of this saddle christening!
The activity will end with the return to the riding school, with a total duration of about 1 hour.
