Full description

A rock climbing course is an excellent opportunity to combine sport and nature and to enjoy a magnificent experience in the splendid setting of Valtellina and its side valleys: Valmalenco, Val Masino and Val di Mello.

If you wish to approach the world ofclimbing or want to improve your level, this activity is for you. An alpine guide will teach you the basics and help you refine your techniques and skills, passing on the enthusiasm and passion for a fun discipline that is extraordinarily beneficial for psychophysical health.

The 6-hour course is tailored to everyone's needs and focuses on three elements: progression techniques, safety methods and training exercises for body and mind.

At the end of the experience you will have gained confidence and will look forward to the next climbs!

What we will do

We will meet at 9 a.m. at the mountain guide's office in Caspoggio (SO). From there, we will reach one of the many locations suitable for the climbing course, which will be chosen by the guide according to the weather conditions and the characteristics of the group: from Valtellina to Val Masino, from Valmalenco to Val di Mello, all enchanting places where unspoilt nature is the main feature.

Upon reaching the course location, we will begin with an introductory briefing on the day's activities. Beginners will be given theoretical basics and, in any case, it will be a good opportunity for everyone to brush up on key climbing concepts. We will devote part of the lesson to safety methods and risk management in special situations. We will learn how to useequipment and belaying systems, and we will learn about basic and specific knotology.

Then we will move on to the practical part which will take us through the techniques of fundamental prog ression and triangle progression. We will learn the most effective motor patterns, the correct movements and positions that will allow us to use our muscles efficiently while minimising effort.

Finally, we will focus on the importance of themental approach in a discipline like climbing, which also has many benefits for the psyche. We will try to increase awareness and proprioception withblindfolded climbing andclimbing in hiking boots, which will push us to find new ways of adapting. We will learn breathing techniques, do time trials to get used to managing time and pressure, and much more.

The climbing day lasts six hours, including breaks and a break for a packed lunch.
