What we will do
The wilderness survival course will begin on Saturday morning and conclude the following day in the afternoon(approx. 30 hours).
We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the meeting point in Sedena (BS), and after checking the personal equipment of each participant, there will be a short orientation lesson. It will be explained how to use a topographic map and compass, and then we will set off on an adventure following the map with ahike of a few kilometresin natural surroundings.
On the way, further orientation elements will be provided, such as sun and star observation, recognising the signs of nature so as not to get lost, and much, much more.
Once at the base camp, after a moment dedicated to lunch, we will proceed with a lesson on how to build an emergency shelter.
All participants will have to build their own shelter for the night using the techniques learned. During the construction of the shelters, technical elements will be learned: from the use of cutting tools (knife, axe and hacksaw) to the main knots, and the use of ropes.
Once the shelters are finished, the fire will be lit and dinner will be prepared.
In the evening, weather permitting, we will devote ourselves toobserving the starry sky, learning to orient ourselves with the help of the stars and the moon and to recognise the main constellations.
On Sunday, after breakfast, there will be a lesson dedicated to fire. We will learn about the main techniques for lighting fi res and hearth structures to be able to cope in all environmental conditions. Lunch will be cooked together using bushcraft techniques or the art of making do with what nature has to offer.
After lunch there will be a time devoted to ancient hunting techniques.
At the end of the course a certificate of participation will be issued, a technical booklet with all the contents covered in the course and a gift.
