Full description

Put yourself to the test and discover what it really means to survive in the wild with a 2-day survival course in the heart of the Sibillini Mountains, in Umbria.

Together with experienced instructors you will learn the basic survival techniques in case of emergency and be ready to face any situation relying only on yourself and your surroundings.

You will learn how to orient yourself with a compass, how to shoot with an archery bow, how to give recognition signals and how to rescue a companion in difficulty. Are you ready for adventure?

What we will do

We will meet in Norcia on Saturday morning at 9:00 am. Having formed the group of 4 to 12 participants, we will have an introductory briefing and then leave by car to reach the activity site, 15 minutes from Norcia. We will walk for about 2 km to reach the base camp and set up the shelters for the night.

During the day, the instructors will teach us how to use cutting tools, tie knots, orient ourselves with a map and compass , and prepare the perfect backpack for outings in the wilderness. We will then go on a 12 km loop trek , which will take about four hours.

On the way back, we will devote ourselves to preparing dinner with trappeur cooking. This is a rudimentary method of cooking food using utensils made from what nature offers: branches, stones, foliage, etc.

After dinner we will take a sensory walk at night and the next morning we will learn how to build a Tibetan bridge, filter water and other primitive techniques. In the afternoon, we will focus on first aid and learn how to send emergency signals.

The course will end around 16:30 on Sunday.
