Full description
To be a superhero, you don't need a cape! All you need is a beekeeper's suit and a lot of curiosity!
With this experience in the province of Aosta, you will acquire the power to communicate with bees, understanding their world and how to take care of them! You will become a beekeeper for a day and visit a beekeeping farm and a wellness apiary, enjoying its benefits, and then participate in a honey tasting!
And to conclude, you will enjoy a delicious aperitif based on typical local products!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Verrayes (AO).
We will be met by our guide and beekeeper, who will welcome us and present us with a welcome gift. From here, our 45-minute guided tour will begin, during which we will visit the processing and honey extraction workshops and the farm's organic vegetable gardens and orchards.
We will then reach the wellness apiary for a 30-minute stop: here we will be able to see the bees up close and benefit from the positive effects of their buzzing and the scent of the hives' products. Immediately afterwards, we will also be able to put on the equipment provided (beekeeper's suit and mask) to get close to the bees and observe them at work for around 45 minutes, while the guide explains many interesting facts about their world and the organisation of the hive.
Back at the facility, we will sit inside a charming vaulted stone tavern to experience a 20-minute audio-guided theatre tasting. Listening to a recorded dialogue, we will be guided to a tasting of typical localhoneys, such as thyme, rhododendron, chestnut and dandelion honeys. If there are children aged 6 to 12 in the group, there will be a bee-themed games programme for them.
We will end the experience by enjoying the farm's products at an aperitif (included) : we will taste honey, jam, organic fruit juice, cakes, cheese and fresh cold cuts. Before saying goodbye, those who wish can linger a little longer at the marked rest stops to rest and admire the view of the valley.
The activity will last a total of about 3½ hours.
