Full description

You spread honey on your bread every morning and know nothing about bees: that’s unacceptable!

Put that right straight away with this experience in Sondrio, where you can become a beekeeper for a day, take a close look at the hives and take part in a honey tasting. To round it off, there’ll be an aperitif featuring local produce!

Put on a mask and gloves and explore this world!

What we will do

We’ll meet 5 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Sondrio (SO). Our guide will be there to welcome us to their farm!

After an introduction to the world of bees, we’ll head to the educational apiary. Once we’ve put on our masks and gloves, we’ll be able to observe the inner and outer workings of the hives up close. Depending on the time of year, we’ll see different stages of the bees’ development. In spring, for example, we’ll be able to witness brood rearing and pollen collection, whilst later on it will be time for the honey harvest.

We’ll then return to the farmhouse for a guided sensory tour, exploring the organoleptic properties of various types of honey. We’ll taste some honeys produced on the farm and others from different regions, trying to spot the differences!

At the end of the tasting, we’ll relax with a delicious aperitif (included) made with local produce and honey beer (or non-alcoholic alternatives) .

The activity will last a total of three and a half hours.
