Full description
Bees can orient themselves using the sun, communicate by dancing and build perfect structures without having studied geometry. You, on the other hand, only have to wear a beekeeper's suit to enter their world!
In this 2-hour experience in the Verbano region, you will discover the life of the beehive up close with an experienced beekeeper, including frames full of honey, bee observation and a final honey tasting!

What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before time at the meeting point in Antronapiana (VB). A beekeeper will be waiting for us and will accompany us on this adventure to discover bees.
First of all, we will listen to an introduction to the world of bees and find out how an apiary works, what roles bees play, what life cycle they follow and what elements make up a beehive. After about 1 hour of theory, we will put on our protective suits (included) and move on to practice. The guide will open some hives, showing us the frames used by the bees and explaining how to recognise the different areas dedicated to honey stocks and how to identify the queen.
The last part of the experience will be devoted to tasting honey under the apiary gazebo. We will taste different varieties produced on site, including acacia, chestnut, linden, millefiori and rhododendron, learning to distinguish aromas and differences related to flowering.
Before the end of the activity, it will be possible to buy apiary products directly on site. The activity will last a total of 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The experience is accessible to people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility.

The experience takes place from March to September and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 5 participants.

The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
