Full description
Amidst the scent of the woods and the buzzing of the bees, an experience awaits you in Montezemolo that will make you look at nature with different eyes!
Put on your beekeeper's suit and head to an apiary in the Belbo Springs Nature Reserve to discover at close quarters the life inside the beehive. In the company of a beekeeper, you will witness the opening of the hive and visit a honey extraction workshop to understand the steps leading to the jar of honey.
And to end the experience on a high note, you can participate in a fantastic tasting of 7 honeys and other products from the beehive!
What we will do
The meeting point is Montezemolo (CN), where we will meet the beekeeper who will introduce us to the extraordinary world of bees, protagonists of an ecosystem as delicate as it is fascinating.
After a briefing, we will set off on a short walk of around 10 minutes inside the Sorgenti del Belbo Nature Reserve, until we reach an apiary surrounded by nature. Once we have donned our protective gear (included) , we will be able to approach the hives in total safety and observe the bees' work at close quarters.
The beekeeper will open a hive and lead us on a real field inspection: we will discover how a hive is organised, learn to recognise the queen, drones and worker bees, and observe the brood and honey stocks. We will also learn about the fundamental role of bees in the ecosystem and the difference between bees and wasps.
Afterwards, we will visit the company's honey extraction and packaging workshop. Here we will follow all the stages of honey processing, from the honeycomb to labelling the jars. A perfect opportunity to really understand how a quality organic honey is made!
We will conclude the experience with a guided tasting of products from the hive. We will taste 7 varieties of honey, including acacia, chestnut, cherry, millefiori, forest honeydew, dandelion and linden, as well as chestnut pollen and other artisanal products such as honey candies.
The experience will last about three hours in total.
