Forget Wonder Woman and the Black Widow: nature's true superheroine has wings and wears a striped jumpsuit!
To meet her, just come to the province of Cosenza and become a beekeeper for a day! You will discover many interesting facts about bees, learn how to distinguish them from wasps, and taste the honey they produce. You will also be able to relax by listening to their buzzing in a wellness apiary!

What we will do
The appointment is at the indicated time at the meeting point in Mulattiera, a hamlet in the municipality of Paola (CS) . Awaiting us will be our guide, who will welcome us together with a friendly mascot in a bee costume and tell us the history of the place, linked to the passage of Richard the Lionheart.
And after watching a 10-minute film to break the ice, we will enter the world of bees! With the help of some posters, we will learn to distinguish bees from wasps, understand the importance of biodiversity and discover the roles of the hive inhabitants. We will then touch natural wax and taste a few types of honey!
We will continue along the path of aromas, a sensory trail among nectariferous herbs, which will allow us to test our sense of smell! Then, wearing the protective suit provided by the guide (included) , we will enter an apiary for a 30-minute visit (optional) , where we will be able to admire the frames of the hives up close.
At that point, we will indulge in a moment of relaxation in a wellness apiary and try out the apisound, being lulled by the buzzing sound that surrounds us. Depending on availability, we may also find music therapy or massage experts on site, who will give us a demonstration of their art.
We will end the experience with a rich aperitif (included) , based on typical products such as local cheeses combined with honey, crespelle, bruschette with garden vegetables and home-made meatballs, all accompanied by a non-alcoholic cocktail or a glass of local wine.
The activity will last a total of 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 5. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is accessible to people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility. Please contact the organisers in advance at the contact details on your booking confirmation email so that they can make the experience more accessible.
Caution! In the event of an allergy to bee stings, participation will not be possible.

The experience takes place from April to August and will be confirmed when a minimum of 10 participants are reached.
At the end of the activity, an aperitif will be offered. Alternatives are available for people with food allergies and intolerances: contact the organisers in advance at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to request them.
Dogs are allowed on the premises.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
