Full description

You love honey and respect bees. .. but how much do you really know!

With this experience in the province of Naples, you will get a close look at the world of bees and the mechanisms that drive it. You will put on the shoes of a beekeeper, learn to recognise the queen bee and handle the frames of an educational apiary: it will be an hour of discovery and fun!

Bzzzzzz. Do you hear that? The bees are calling you!

What we will do

The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Somma Vesuviana (NA) . We will be welcomed by the guide who will accompany us on this experience.

We will begin with a delicious welcome snack, which will include bread and jam or bread and honey, accompanied by fruit juice or other drinks (proposals vary according to season and availability) . After some small talk, we will get down to business with a theoretical introduction: we will find out what honeybees are, how they live, why they are so important for the environment and what tools are used in beekeeping.

Then, wearing gloves and a protective suit (included) , we will approach the educational beehive. The guide will open it up and take out the frames so we can take a closer look at bees, wax cells, pollen, honey and larvae, explaining how to distinguish the queen bee from the worker bees.

Finally, we will be able to visit a market of handmade ceramic objects inspired by bees and buy a souvenir of the experience, if we wish. And after the final goodbyes, we will be given a gift kit (included) : some seeds to plant in our garden to make flowers that will help create a habitat suitable for bees to survive!

The activity will last about 1 hour in total.
