Full description

They fly low, but give sweet results!

Let's talk about bees, which you can learn about with this experience in the province of Rome. You will transform yourself into a beekeeper for a day and put on the shoes of the trade to discover their world.

But first. .. you will taste their delicious honey at breakfast!

What we will do

We will meet at the meeting point in Subiaco (RM), amidst the beautiful Simbruini Mountains, where our guide will be waiting for us.

After a brief introduction to the day's activities and the surrounding scenery, we will sit down at the farm for a welcome breakfast (included) , which will include a sandwich, a croissant, and a biscuit (all prepared either with or with the wildflower honey produced by the local bees) . We can also accompany this with water, tea or fruit juice.

After about 20 minutes, the guide will give us a brief introduction to the world of bees and lead us to an educational beehive with glass walls. We will then continue our walk to a disassembled beehive, without bees, where we will see all the sections and internal frames that make it up. We will also try to find the queen bee among the many images that will be proposed to us along with the frames.

We will then put on our beekeeping suits (included) and observe the guide, an experienced beekeeper, as he removes the actual cells from a hive. As they are deployed, we will discover the function of the various tools used. Then it will be our turn and, as we work, various opportunities will arise to learn how life inside the hive works.

Finally, with our suits off, we will discover what an educational drinking trough is and why we can caress the bees around it. In May and June, we will even be able to try stroking the bees ourselves!

The activity will last a total of 3 hours and will allow us to come into contact with a unique and surprising reality!
