Full description
Among the experiences you should have at least once in your life, this is number one!
Become a beekeeper for a day, pick up the tools of the trade and learn how to take care of the hives together with your guide. You will be able to observe bees up close and discover many interesting facts about them.
Finally, you can take part in an unmissable honey tasting session!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Pesciano, a hamlet of Todi (PG), where we will be met by the guide who, as beekeeper, will accompany us during the experience.
After an initial welcome, we will have a briefing of about 30 minutes, during which we will learn about the importance of bees for the environment and some curiosities about their behaviour. Then, we will walk to the apiary for a few minutes and put on the beekeeper's suit (provided by the organisers) to enjoy the experience in total safety.
Once dressed, we will help the beekeeper carry out a series of operations on the hives, listening to his explanations. We will observe the bees up close and handle the tools of the trade. Meanwhile, the guide will answer all our questions!
After about an hour of activity, it will be time to taste the delicious honey produced by the bees, but not before a30-minute introduction to sensory analysis, during which the beekeeper will explain how best to appreciate it. Having gained some more knowledge about this sweet product, we will move on to the tasting (included) of 4 or 5 different and unique types of honey .
We will discover unique flavours and relax in the midst of nature for a few more moments, then say goodbye to the guide and his wonderful estate with a smile on our faces!
Including the tasting, the experience will last about 2½ hours in total.

The activity is available from April to September and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. Free parking spaces are available on site.
