Full description

Someone once remarked that if bees disappeared from the earth, there would only be four years left for mankind. Hoping for much more time, we invite you to take your first steps into the world ofbeekeeping now!

Enter the secret world of bees in the company of your friends or family in Fabriano, and let yourself be guided by an expert beekeeper to discover one of the most fascinating animal kingdoms on our planet.

A 2-hour experience suitable for young and old who, in addition to revealing the secrets of the queen bee and its companions, will treat you to a tasting of honey and local products. So, what a...zzzzz...petti?

What we will do

We will meet five minutes before the agreed time at Argignano, a hamlet of Fabriano (AN), a stone's throw from the beauty of Gubbio and the Frasassi Caves.

We will be welcomed by our expert beekeeper , who will give us some preliminary information on the world of bees. We will thus begin to take our first steps in beekeeping, not before we have properly equipped ourselves by wearing a protective suit.

Armed with the words of wisdom told to us by our beekeeper and wrapped up in our suit, we will then set off towards theapiary along a path about a hundred metres long. Once there, we will get to the heart of our exploration: we will open thehive and sharpen our eyesight in search of thequeen bee. We will discover the secrets of pollen and honey, and observe what the bee family is like: will there be a grumpy uncle and grandma here too?

After this first part lasting about one hour, we will return to the starting point for a final experience together, lasting about 40 minutes. We will sit in the shade, without suits and in complete relaxation, outdoors or indoors depending on the weather conditions, and enjoy a tasting of honey produced by our beekeeper.

To repay us for our efforts, we will be rewarded with a tasting of rare and highly prized organic honeys, chosen by leading starred restaurants throughout Italy, such as Stachys, coriander, alfalfa or thistle honey. Accompanying them, various cheese and fruit pairings.

Between final questions and curiosities (and the chance to buy a jar of honey to take home with you), the experience will end after about 2 hours in total.
