What happens inside a beehive? Come and find out with us in Zibido San Giacomo, near Milan!
Together with anexpert beekeeper, you will learn more about the wonderful world of bees by observing them at work in their hives. And to make it even more special, at the end you will have a jar of honey to take home.
A2-hour experience in the nature of Lombardy, surrounded by flowers and plants and lots of sweetness!
What we will do
The appointment is at the farm in Zibido San Giacomo, an oasis of peace and tranquillity just outside Milan. Here we will be welcomed by Elena, a passionate beekeeper who will guide us through this experience.
We will begin with an overview of the activities of thecompany, which is home to 60 hives of bees, and the products they offer: acacia honey, mixed flower honey, chestnut honey and much more. This introduction will last about 30 minutes.
Then it will be time to get closer to the hives! Wearing beekeeper's overalls and gloves, we will follow Elena who will show us 3 different beehives, explaining the differences between honey and nest frames, and allow us to lift the frame to watch the bees at work.
During this visit, which will last about 1½ hours, we will have the opportunity to ask questions and satisfy all our curiosities about the world of bees. Everything will take place in a beautiful natural setting, surrounded by blueberry plants and flowers despite the proximity to bustling Milan.
Finally, we will say goodbye with a sweet gift: a jar of honey produced by the very bees we met. The total experience will last about 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The experience is accessible by wheelchair and for persons with reduced mobility.
Other information
The activity is available from March to September.
Dogs are allowed on the premises. During the activity, they may not approach the hives and must remain inside the enclosure.
The venue is not easily accessible by public transport.
